Vail is perhaps best described as a giant chameleon. Constantly altering its appearance to be all things to everyone. The biggest single mountain resort in America, Vail's mountain is huge, and ensures that almost all levels of skiers and borders are catered for. Come to ski some decent powder filled back bowls? You've come to the right place. Want to put the kids in a high quality ski school while you ski aforementioned back bowls? Of course you do. Come to wait in long lift lines? Well, at times, there's plenty of that happening here too.

Vail's purpose built Tyrolean style village is pleasant and convenient, albeit slightly contrived compared to the old mining towns that make up the neighbouring Colorado resorts. Notwithstanding this, you will eventually succumb to the the sheer size and breadth of Vail's fun filled offerings. There is a spattering of excellent restaurants, a few entertaining nightlife options, and a range of alternate off snow and Après activities to keep almost any demographic entertained. This resort is best suited to those looking for a ski vacation that all parties will enjoy. Children, adults, beginners, advanced riders, singles, retirees...they'll all have a whale of a time.
