Think its all Foie Gras, Polo and European Aristocracy? Sure, St Moritz has been renowned as the playground of Europe’s elite since the 1860’s, and the wealth of this area is inescapable. The automobiles and high-end boutiques are exorbitant, and there is an unmistakable aura of exclusivity about St Moritz. But that's only half the story.
It is not hard to justify why this is such a coveted destination. The mountains are impossibly beautiful, the skiing is excellent and at an altitude high enough to yield reliable snow cover, and if your budget stretches to the extremely high-end, you will appreciate the restaurants, nightlife, and most notably the shopping that is uniquely abundant for a resort town.
